GoPro Mission 1 Pro ILS

The MISSION 1 series is a new line of compact cinema cameras designed to go beyond traditional action cameras like the GoPro HERO Black range.

It features a cutting-edge larger 1" sensor, incredible low-light performance, Open Gate 8K30 and 4K120 video capture, and category-leading resolutions, frame rates, operating times, and thermal performance for extreme use cases.

They are the world's most compact, lightweight, and rugged professional cinema cameras, built for filmmakers, creators, and aspiring enthusiasts, while HERO Black cameras are optimized for action sports and POV (point of view) capture.

GoPro Mission 1 — Description and specifications

The GoPro Mission 1 is GoPro's most ambitious camera to date, aimed at professional and cinematic use — a major step beyond the traditional HERO Black action cameras.

• Sensor and image: 1-inch sensor with 50 megapixels and Quad Bayer structure, with native 1.6µm pixels that merge to 3.2µm for improved light capture in challenging conditions.
• Video: The Mission 1 (base) shoots 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps. The Mission 1 Pro raises this to 8K at 60fps and 4K at 240fps, with slow motion at 1080p/960fps and Open Gate mode in 4K.
• Processor: GP3 chip (5nm) with updated AI neural processing unit for improved video processing and low-light performance.
• Color and profiles: HLG HDR support, 10-bit colour and GP-Log2 flat profile for advanced colour grading. Maximum bitrate of 240Mbps.
• Audio: 32-bit float recording with multi-microphone system, wireless microphone compatibility and Bluetooth support.
• Water resistance: Waterproof to 20 metres without additional housing.
• Battery: New high-capacity Enduro 2 battery. Approximate recording times: up to 5h at 1080p/30, over 3h at 4K/30, up to 1.5h at 8K/30.
• ILS model: The Mission 1 Pro ILS features a Micro Four Thirds mount for interchangeable lenses.

Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro and Mission 1 Pro ILS — Differences

• All three models share the same 1-inch 50MP sensor, GP3 processor, 20m waterproofing, 32-bit float audio and Enduro 2 battery.
• The Mission 1 is the base model. It shoots 8K at 30fps, 4K at 120fps and slow motion at 1080p/240fps. It is the most accessible option in the range, aimed at creators and enthusiasts who want cinematic quality without needing the highest performance.
• The Mission 1 Pro raises the bar: 8K at 60fps, 4K at 240fps and slow motion at 1080p/960fps. It is designed for filmmakers and professional productions that require higher frame rates and advanced slow-motion options.
• The Mission 1 Pro ILS has the same video specifications as the Pro, but adds a Micro Four Thirds mount for interchangeable lenses. It is the most advanced model in the range and the first GoPro in history to feature interchangeable lenses, aimed at productions that need different focal lengths, optical bokeh or adapters to other lens systems.
